If you use Google Meet in Google Chrome, we recommend installing the Mic Drop Chrome Extension to get the best experience with Mic Drop.

When you mute or unmute in Mic Drop, we sync your mute state to Meet. Everyone on the call sees your real status. And if you mute or unmute yourself in Google Meet—it gets reflected in Mic Drop as well.

Can the Mic Drop Chrome Extension access my browser data?

No. The Mic Drop Chrome Extension only has access to the Google Meet tab in your browser. It does not have access to any other tabs, your browsing history, or any other data in your browser.

The extension only runs on meet.google.com/* URLs right now.
