How do I start using Mic Drop?
First, download Mic Drop from the Mac App Store. When you first open the app, Mic Drop will ask you a few questions to help you get started.
Help! I can’t see Mic Drop in my menu bar!
Sometimes icons get pushed off the menu bar, if you have a lot up there. Try re-opening Mic Drop via the Finder or Spotlight and it should appear. We also recommend using a menu bar manager.
How do I set my keyboard shortcut?
Your keyboard shortcut should consist of at least one modifier key, followed by a regular key. You can also use a single Function key.
How can I be sure I’m muted?
You can check the menu bar to verify your mute status, enable visual or audio notifications, or use Mic Check—or any combination thereof!
What is push-to-talk?
Push-to-talk (and hold-to-mute) allows you to hold a key to mute or unmute.
